Latest from Official Wigan Warriors Website:

On Friday 25th April, 13 of the Shevington Sharks Under 7's squad left Wigan, Cumbria bound.

The weekend saw the Under 7's play a curtain raiser at Millom A.R.L.F.C. against their Under 7/8's. Despite narrowly losing the match 28 - 20 each and every member of the squad played some great rugby and their conduct both on and off the pitch was a credit to both themselves and Shevington Sharks.

Following the success of the day the Sharks have built up a strong relationship with Millom and are hoping to host a return fixture soon.

In extremely wet conditions it took an early try from Millom to jolt the Sharks into playing the kind of rugby they are capable of. A try from Sam Halsall evened the score & then for the rest of the half nothing could seperate the teams. 2 tries from Millom were matched by Sharks tries from Joe Lowe and Matthew Ellis bringing the1st-half to a 12-12 end.

In the 2nd-half the Sharks took an early lead with a try from Oliver Brookes but Millom struck back with 3 unanswered scores. Jack Welsby crossed the line to bring the Sharks back into the game with only minutes to go, but while chasing the elusive equaliser the Sharks were unable to prevent a futher try by Millom resulting in a final score of 28-20 to Millom.

North West Counties Plate Winners 2008

Sharks 30 -  Thatto Heath 6

The Sharks ended their season on a high with a well earned victory over St Helens rivals Thatto Heath.

The team travelled to Fylde Rugby Union Club and produced an excellent display to lift the plate.

The coaches would just like to say a BIG thank you to all the players and parents for the commitment they've shown us through out the season, and we look forward to working with you next season in the NWC under 13s league.

Well done lads, you're a credit to yourselves and your parents!
